VINTAGE ANTIQUE INSPIRED PLAY ROOM

Well…I finally got around to sharing our Playroom refresh!

I wanted to keep this space true to the rest of our house and still keep it fun for my kids.

It’s always important to have a cohesive look throughout your house regarding design.

When spaces easily flow together they have many benefits

You don’t get tired of it!

You know how it goes, Having that designated children’s bathroom always ends up going out of style or someone gets end up not liking the pirate theme anymore.

Of course some people like doing that but for me I like to keep it neutral enough so that it can flow to the house and it will be easy to transition into something else someday.

But doing this to a playroom can be a tricky process so this is how I created mine.

Scroll to the end for all the room sources!

First, for the colors all the inspiration came from this heirloom hand painted table that was gifted to my children from their Grandma Lizzie. The details in this piece of art is simply amazing!

The walls I covered with Beadboard Wallpaper and used painted yard sticks for chair rail and moulding, lol. It adds a fun little twist to the space.

I love how the texture of the yardstick writing who’s through.

I added lots of vintage antiques that had childlike themes. I also picked from local thrift stores and some items I even brought from Denmark years ago…pieces I have collected for years .

Mixing in some of my favorite Children’s books, layering old wood/gold frames and Knick knacks makes this space feel collected yet cozy.

So…I added this super soft wool rug was also a must to help brighten this space as well as add some texture to it. It was important to me to make sure that this rug would be comfortable for little ones to walk barefoot on and sit to play for hours.

Also organization is a must !

This furniture is perfect to keep all the toys in check.

All their extra books as well as some more toys are neatly tucked away under the stairs in their “Library”.

Next on the list for this little playroom will be to add some playfood to that basket on the wall so my tiny ones can play SuperMarket! What’s your favorite toy food? Kid kraft? Ikea? Melissa & Doug?

Thanks for stopping by today friends!

Hope this little space can bring some inspiration for how you can create a playroom that reflects all things Antique but still keeping it functional and fun for the kids!
